The sign has the four directions and each directions points to one that Lee says that they may choose down their course of life. He warns them and tells them to be cautious about the directions they choose because once they choose it they will most likely stick with it. Cathy chose the life of evil and continued down it; while Aron chose to be good and stayed on that path all thorough.Cal and Adam were able to choose the path in between because of Lee.
